[John, married Isabel de Warrenne] When, in 1290, Margaret, the Maid of Norway, died, John claimed the crown of Scotland in right of his grandmother, Margaret, eldest daughter of David, Earl of Huntington. His right was confirmed 17 November 1292. He abdicated on 10 July 1296. He lost his Barony and finally in 1302 retired to his estates in France. There he lived out the remainder of his life in obscurity. He died before 4 January 1314.

Henry was the 9th Baron Percy. He was also Baron of Topcliffe; Warden of Galloway and Ayrshire; Justiciar in Dumfries; joint Justiciar in Lancastershire, Cumberland, and Westmoreland; Constable of Scarborough Castle; Justice of the Forest beyond Trent; Keeper of Bamburgh Castle; and Keeper of the Martches.

He accompanied his grandfather, Sir John de Warenne, Earl of Surrey to Scotland.

He was knighted by the King at the capture of Berwick.
