    • Occupation: say 1870, Merthyr Tydfil, Breconshire, Glamorganshire, Wales; Patrick was a Coalminer and, like many youngsters of the time, began working in the coal mines that dotted the area when he was just ten to twelve years old.
    • Census: 1871, Cardiff, Glamorganshire, Wales; In the 1871 Wales Census he was recorded, age 12, a pauper, living at the Cardiff Union Workhouse, Cardiff, Glamorganshire, Wales with his mother. The Cardiff Poor Law Union, later called the Cardiff Union Workhouse, was formed on September 13, 1836. The workhouse building, now known as Model House, is the only structure that still exists on the property, and is occupied by a library, craft and design center
    • Immigration: About 1885; In about 1885, Patrick Reardon and wife Elizabeth left Wales for the United States. It is believed that they left their daughter Margaret in the care of relatives (probably her Grand Parents John and Margaret Reardon). We do not know exactly when Patrick and Elizabeth left Wales, or where they arrived, but they made their way immediately to Cleveland, Ohio where they lived and worked alongside other Irish immigrants on Cleveland’s near East Side.

    • Residence: 1887, Cleveland, Cuyahoga County, Ohio; In 1887 they lived on 5902 Prosser Avenue near East 60th and Superior Avenue in Cleveland.
