- On 16 June 632, he was crowned the King of Persia. [1]
- He was the last of the Sassanian dynasty, and came to the throne too young to rule. Persia was engulfed in civil war, and beset by the Arab invasion. The Persians were defeated in 637 at Kadisiya and 641 at Neharend. Yazdegerd III was forced to flee to Media. [1]
