    Text PRESIDENT OF BRADDOCK
    BOROUGH COUNCIL DIES
    JOHX A. LOEW
    John A. Loew, president of the Braddock borough council and pioneer resident of Braddock, died Friday in his home, 735 Parker ave., Braddock. He was born In Port Perry, Pa., and came to Braddock with his parents, at which time his father, John B. Loew was supervisor of the construction of the Baltimore & Ohio railroad through the Braddock section.
    Mr. Loew was educated in the Braddock schools and for a number of years was employed In the Edgar Thomson steel works at Braddock. He later entered the hardware business, from which he retired U! years ago, turning the store over to his sons.

    He had always been active in civic affairs and was elected as a member of council In 1809. He served three terms and retired in 1908. He was re-elected In 1918 ana elected president In 1920. He was a chartered member of St. Joseph's church and Grand Knights of Braddock council No. 811, Knights of Columbus. He was also a member of Braddock lodge. No. 883, B. P. O. E., Fraternal Order of Eagles, Loyal Order of Moose and the Maccabees.

    In 1885 Mr. Loew married Christina Liebeck, who died seven years later. Four years following her death he married Mrs. Katherine Quinn, who died In 1918. Two years ago he married Mrs. Mary Selbert, of Slatington, Pa., who survives htm. He Is also survived by the following children: Albert G. Loew, of Braddock; Bertha H. and Alice X. Loew, at home; Michael J. Qulin, of Edgewood Mrs. John Mitchell, of Ligonier, and Mark V. Quinn, of Wilkinsburg. He Is also survived by three sisters, Mrs. Joseph L. Mayer, of Swiss vale; Sirs. Joseph Rickey, of Pittsburgh, and Miss Kate Loew, of Gary, Ind.
