     Chester Willard Ludwig was born on 23 November 1907 at South Greensburg, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania.1,2,3,4,5 He was the son of Harry Ludwig and Elizabeth Sidway. Chester Willard Ludwig was christened on 18 April 1908 in the Third Church Evangelical and Reformed, Greensburg, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania.2 Chester, age 2, appeared on the US Census of 1910 living on Elm Street, South, South Greensburg, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania,in the household of his parents, Harry and Elizabeth Ludwig.6 Chester, age 12, appeared on the US Census of 1920 living at Greensburg, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania,in the household of his parents, Harry and Elizabeth Ludwig.7

Chester married first in 1928, Mabel Estella Cross. She was born in 1905 and died in 1992.

Chester, age 22 years, appeared on the US Census of 1930 at 1213 Broad Street, South Greensburg, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania, with his first wife.9 Chester, age 32 years, appeared on the US Census of 1940 at Greensburg, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania, with his first wife and family.10 Chester was a tool maker in 1940.10 On on 16 October 1940, Chester registered for the World War II draft, while living at R.F.D. #2, Greensburg, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania. He gave his age as 33 and his employer as the Woolworth Company.3

Chester Willard Ludwig, age 37, married Madeline Rosella Myers, age 28 , daughter of Joseph Lucas Myers and Anna Isabelle Geiger, on 24 February 1945 at the Cumberland, Allegheny County, Maryland.

Miss Madeline Myers, of Latrobe, was married to Chester Ludwig. of Greensburg, at a ceremony performed on Saturday, February 24, at 11:45 a.m., in Cumberland, Maryland.

The bride, who graduated from Latrobe High School in the class of 1935 and had been an employee of the F. W. Woolworth store, is the daughter of Mrs. Anne Myers and the late Joseph Myers of 335 Spring street.

Mr. Ludwig is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Ludwig, of 1053 Oakland Avenue, Greensburg. He was formerly an employe of the Walworth Company but will accept a position with Kennametal, Inc., this week.

Mr. and Mrs. Ludwig plan to reside with the bride's mother on Spring street.

Chester Ludwig, 42 years, appeared as Head of Household with Madeline, his wife, on the United States Census of 1950 at 30 Madison Street, Latrobe, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania.12 According to the Federal Census in 1950, Chester was a lathe operator at a carbide tool factory.12 He died on 6 August 1996 at Latrobe, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania, at age 88.1,13,4,5 Chester was buried at Saint Clair Cemetery, Greensburg, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania.14
