     Dorothy McGuire was born on 27 June 1891 at Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.1,2,3 She was the daughter of James Sylvester McGuire and Rose A. Trout. Dorothy, age 10, appeared on the US Census of 1900 living at 5884 Ellsworth Street, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania,in the household of her parents, James Sylvester and Rose A. McGuire.2 Dorothy, age 18, appeared on the US Census of 1910 living at 1113 Trenton Avenue, Wilkinsburg, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania,in the household of her parents, James Sylvester and Rose A. McGuire. According to the Census, she worked as a stenographer.4

Dorothy McGuire, age 28, married Michael James Quinn, age 30 , son of Michael J. Quinn and CatherineA. Boyle, on 8 June 1920 at St. James Roman Catholic Church, Wilkinsburg, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania.

Her married name was Quinn. Dorothy, age 38 years, and Michael, age 40 years, appeared on the US Census of 1930 on 265 Maple Avenue, Edgewood, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania.6 Dorothy, age 58 years, appeared on the US Census of 1950 on 138 Crescent Hill Road, Penn, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, living with her daughter Patricia and her family. She was a widow.2 She died on 18 March 1974 at Villa DeMarilloc Nursing HOme, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, at age 82.1,3,7 Dorothy's obituary of 19 March 1974, reads:

On Monday, March 18, 1974, Dorothy R., at The Villa DeMarilloc Nursing Home, formerly of Penn Hills; wife of the late Michael J. Sr; mother of Michael J. Jr. of Pittsburgh, John L. of Churchill, Mrs. Patricia Spitzer of Pennington, N. J; sister of Mrs. Ann Sittler of Redington Beach, Fla., Samuel McGuire of Detroit, Mich; also 18 grondchildren, four areat-grandchildren. Friends received at THOMAS L. NIED FUNERAL HOME, 7441 Washington St., Swissvale. Family hours 2-4, 7-9 p. m. Tuesday. Mass of Christian Burial at St. John Fisher Church on Wednesday at 10 a.m. Contributions may be made to St. John Fisher. Church, Churchill Boro.
