     Elizabeth Ann Travis was born on 20 April 1810 at Yorktown, Westchester County, New York.2,3,4 She was the daughter of John Travis and Phebe Whitney.1 Elizabeth Ann Travis went by the nick-name of Betsy. As of 29 November 1831,her married name was Horton.

Elizabeth Ann Travis, age 21, married Elijah Horton, age 21 , son of William Horton and Ruhama Buckbee, on 29 November 1831 at Yorktown, Westchester County, New York, They were married by the Rev. John Sloat, the Methodist Minister.

In 1833,Betsy and Elijahmoved to Carmel, Putnam County, New York.3 Elijah and Betsey moved in 1845 to Putnam Valley, New York. Betsy, age 39 years, and Elijah Travis, age 39 years, appeared on the US Census of 1850 at Putnam Valley, Putnam County, New York.5 Betsy, age 49 years, and Elijah Travis, age 49 years, appeared on the US Census of 1860 at Putnam Valley, Putnam County, New York.6 Betsy, age 59 years, and Elijah Travis, age 59 years, appeared on the US Census of 1870 at Putnam Valley, Putnam County, New York.7 Betsy, age 69 years, and Elijah Travis, age 69 years, appeared on the US Census of 1880 at Putnam Valley, Putnam County, New York.8 She died on 2 September 1880 at New York State at age 70.2,4 Betsy was buried at Ballard-Barrett Cemetery, Mahopac Falls, Putnam County, New York.4
