William Henry Green was born on 14 September 1862 at Derby, Vermont.2,3,4 He was the son of Tyler M. Green and Emily Jane Moulton or Horner.1 William, age 17 years, appeared on the US Census of 1880 at Derby, Vermont.5
William Henry Green, age 31, married Harriet Louise Whelpley, age 31 , daughter of Captain David C. Whelpley and Harriet Jane Pangbourne, on 1 May 1894 at the Berlin, Vermont.

William Henry Green appeared as Head of Household with Harriet Louise Whelpley, his wife, on the United States Census of 1900 on 67 Prospect Street, Montpelier, Vermont.2 William Henry Green appeared as Head of Household with Harriet Louise Whelpley, his wife, on the United States Census of 1910 on Elm Street, Montpelier, Vermont.7 William Henry Green died on 15 January 1917 at Montpelier, Vermont, at age 54 from lobar pneumonia at his home. He was listed as a teamster on his death record.3,4
William's obituary of 15 January 1917, reads:
William H. Green died at his home 58 Elm street, at 5 o'clock this morning, death being due to pneumonia. Mr. Green had been ill only a week. He was able to be at work a week ago Monday. The deceased had suffered from a cold for several weeks.
William Green was the son of Tyler and Emily (Moulton) Green. He was born in Derby September 14, 54 years ago. His early life was passed in Derby and the last 30 years he had lived in this city.
For the past ten years or more he had driven a team for L. D. Taft. Before that he drove for Byron Humphrey and for a time he was employed in the Colton shops.
Mr. Green married Hattie Whelply of New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Canada, May 1, 1894. Besides his wife, he leaves a daughter, Mrs. Harry White, and a son, William Green both of Montpelier; three sisters, Mrs. M. D. Sturtevant of Portsmouth, N. H., and Mrs. Luella McDonald and Mrs. George Silloway of Montpelier.
He was a member of Montpelier lodge of Knights of Pythias.
