     Charles E. Whelpley was born on 25 July 1872 at Lepreau, New Brunswick, Canada.1,2,3,4,5 He was the son of Captain David C. Whelpley and Harriet Jane Pangbourne. Charles appeared on the Canadian Census of 1881 at Lepreau, New Brunswick, Canada, in the household of his parents, David C. and Harriet Jane Whelpley.6 Charles E. Whelpley immigrated in 1892 to the United States.4

Charles E. Whelpley, age 21, married Alice Bagley, age 18 , daughter of Cyrus Ransom Bagley and Jennie Olive Sleeper, on 22 May 1894 at the Montpelier, Vermont.

Whelpley appeared as Head of Household with Alice Bagley, his wife, on the United States Census of 1920 at 604 Ferdinand Avenue, Forest Park, Cook County, Illinois.4 According to the Federal Census in 1920, Charles was a granite worker.4 Charles E. Whelpley appeared as Head of Household with Alice Bagley, his wife, on the United States Census of 1930 at 604 Ferdinand Street, Proviso Township, Cook County, Illinois.9 According to the Federal Census in 1930, Charles was a granite polisher.9 He died on 20 September 1931 at Forest Park, Cook County, Illinois, at age 59.1,3 Charles was buried on 22 September 1931 at Woodlawn Cemetery, Forest Park, Cook County, Illinois.1,3
