Mary Philara Burnett was born on 26 August 1840 at Alburgh, Vermont.2,1,3,4,5 She was the daughter of François Bonin and Zoe Babin dite LaCroix. Mary Philara Burnett was christened on 30 August 1840 in the Église de Saint-Georges, Henryville, Lower Canada, British North America, She was christened Philomene Bonin.1 Mary Philara Burnett was also known as Mary Philara Burnett after her immigration to the US. Mary, age 9, appeared on the US Census of 1850 living at Johnson, Vermont,in the household of her parents, Franklin and Zoe Burnett.2 Mary, age 19, appeared on the US Census of 1860 living at Alburgh, Vermont,in the household of her parents, Franklin and Zoe Burnett.6 As of November 1862,her married name was LaBombard.7

Mary, age 29 years, and Peter LaBombard, age 28 years, appeared on the US Census of 1870 at Alburgh, Vermont.8 Mary, age 39 years, and Peter LaBombard, age 38 years, appeared on the US Census of 1880 at Alburgh, Vermont.9 Mary, age 69 years, appeared on the US Census of 1910 at Saint Albans, Vermont, with her two daughters.10 Mary, age 79 years, appeared on the US Census of 1920 at Saint Albans, Vermont, with her daughter, Nellie. Mary was a widow.11 Mary, age 89 years, appeared on the US Census of 1930 at Bellows Falls, Vermont, with her daughter, Nettie and her family. She was a widow.12 Mary died on 19 December 1930 at home of her daughter, Mrs. Nettie Hewey, at Bellows Falls, Vermont, at age 90 from chronic cardio renal disease caused by advance arterio sclerosis.3,4,5
Mary's obituary of 22 December 1930, reads:
The funeral of Mrs. Mary Bombard, whose death oecurred at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Nettie Hewey, at Bellows Falls, was held this morning at 9 o'clock at Holy Angels' church with the Rev. L. Desrochers officiating. Interment was in Holy Cross cemetery, the Rev. P. J. Sweeney officiating at the grave. Mrs. Bombard was the widow of Peter Bombard and a former resident of St. Albans. She was born in Alburg August 26, 1840, being over 90 years old. She is survived by one son, Lewis Bombard, of this city; two daughters, Mrs. Nettie Hewey, of Bellows Falls, and Mrs. E. W. Jones, of Bristol, Conn., who was unable to attend the funeral on account of illness; three grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
The bearers were Adolphus Turcotte, Louis Girard, Thomas Lawyea, Lewis Menard.
