Celinda Burnett

     Celinda Burnett was born in December 1855 at Alburgh, Vermont.¹ She was the daughter of François Bonin and Zoe Babin dite LaCroix. Celinda, age 4, appeared on the US Census of 1860 living at Alburgh, Vermont,in the household of her parents, Franklin and Zoe Burnett.² Celinda, age 15, appeared on the US Census of 1870 living at Altona, Clinton County, New York,in the household of her parents, Frank and Zoe Burnett.³

Celinda Burnett, age 16, married Peter Baxter, age 17 , son of Augustus Baxter and Matilda ______, on 18 November 1872 at the St. Edmunds Church, Ellenburg.



As of 1873,her married name was Baxter. Celinda, age 24 years, and Peter Burnett, age 24 years, appeared on the US Census of 1880 at Dannemora, Clinton County, New York.⁶ Celinda, age 44 years, and Peter Burnett, age 44 years, appeared on the US Census of 1900 at Franklin, Delaware County, New York.¹ Celinda, age 49 years, and Peter, age 49 years , appeared on the New York State Census of 1905 at Altona, Clinton County, New York.⁷ Celinda, age 54 years, and Peter Burnett, age 54 years, appeared on the US Census of 1910 at Altona, Clinton County, New York.⁸ Celinda, age 59 years, appeared on the New York State Census of 1915 at Schuyler Falls, Clinton County, New York, with her her son, Edwin, and his family. She was a widow.⁹ Celinda, age 64 years, appeared on the US Census of 1920 at Canton, Norfolk County, Massachusetts, living with her son, Edwin, and his family.¹⁰ She died on 26 February 1930 at New York City, New York, at age 74.^11,12
