Elnora Cole was born on 11 April 1898 at Winterton, Sullivan County, New York.1,2 She was the daughter of Stephen Cole and Almira Giffin. Elnora, age 1, appeared on the US Census of 1900 living at Mamakating, Sullivan County, New York,in the household of her parents, Stephen and Almira Cole.3 Elnora, age 12, appeared on the US Census of 1910 living at Wallkill, Orange County, New York,in the household of her parents, Stephen and Almira Cole.4 Elnora, age 17, appeared on the US Census of 1915 living at Wallkill, Orange County, New York,in the household of her parents, Stephen and Almira Cole.5 Elnora Cole and Thomas Charles Travis obtained a marriage license on 4 August 1917 at Orange County, New York.1,6
Elnora Cole, age 19, married Thomas Charles Travis, age 19 , son of George William Travis and Margaret E. Sexton, on 4 August 1917 at the Middletown, Orange County, New York.
Her married name was Travis. Elnora, age 21, appeared on the US Census of 1920 living with her husband at Middletown, Orange County, New York,in the household of her parents, Stephen and Almira Cole.8 Elnora, age 31 years, and Thomas, age 31 years, appeared on the US Census of 1930 on 915 Park Street, Hartford, Connecticut.9 Elnora, age 41 years, and Thomas, age 41 years, appeared on the US Census of 1940 on 15 Clinton Street, Hartford, Connecticut.10 Elnora Cole died on 16 April 1944 at Hartford, Connecticut, at age 46.11,12 Elnora's obituary of 18 April 1944, reads:
