     Shirley Mildred Plouf was born on 8 November 1926 at Palmer, Massachusetts.1,2 Shirley, age 3 years, appeared on the US Census of 1930 at 48 Bay Road, Hadley, Massachusetts, with the Morton Family as a ward.3 Shirley, age 13 years, appeared on the US Census of 1940 at Hadley, Massachusetts, with her Aunt and Uncle, George and Clara Riggott.4 As of 3 March 1946,her married name was Burnett.

Shirley Mildred Plouf, age 19, married Murvil Francis Burnett Jr., age 21 , son of Murvil Francis Burnett and Irene Francelia Eddy, on 3 March 1946 at the St. John's Episcopal Church, Northampton, Massachusetts.

Murvil and Shirley's wedding announcement of 4 March 1946, reads:

Miss Shirley Mildred Plout, daughter of Mrs. Hilda Plouf of Allyn St., was married yesterday afternoon to Murvil F. Burnett, Jr. son of Mr. and Mrs. M..P. Burnett of Oak St., in St. John's church, Northampton. Rev. Her. vey C. Parke, pastor of the church, officiated at the double ring ceremony and William Short church organist, played the wed ding music.

Miss Shirley Hudge of Spring field attended the bride as maid of honor, while Miss Beverly Bur. nett, sister of the bridegroom, and Miss Lois Drinkwater were bridesmaids and Rita Mae Hutson of Manchester, Conn., was the flower girl. William Kane acted as best man, Gilbert Jensen o Belchertown, uncle of the bride, and. Edward Delzell ushered and Walter Jensen, Jr., cousin of the bride, was ring bearer.

The white gown of slipper satin worn by the bride had a fitted bodice, a sweetheart neckline, and a long court train trimmed with scalloped lace. Her fingertip illusion veil, adorned with Chantilly lace, was caught to a coronet of orange blossoms and her bouquet was of gardenias, roses, and an orchid tied with streamers. The maid of honor wore a yellow gown with a lace skirt and had a bouquet of yellow roses with silver ribbon. The bridesmaids gowns were of blue and pink orchid lace and they carried bouquets of pink roses with silver ribbons, while the flower girl wore a gown of aqua satin and had bouquet of yellow roses with a yellow ribbon.

The bride's mother wore a pow. der-blue suit with matching accessories and the bridegroom's mother was in a gray flowered silk jersey dress with matching accessories. They both had mixed corsages.

After a reception for 175 guests at the home of the bridegroom's parents, the couple left for an unannounced wedding trip. For traveling. the bride wore a brown peplum suit with brown accessories, a mouton coat and an orchid corsage. The Burnettes will live at 9 Allyn St., when they 1 return.

The bride was born in Palmer' and is a graduate of Kindall Halt, Peterborough, N. H. The bride groom, a native of Northampton, was graduated from Richmond Military academy in Augusta, Ga.

Out-of-town guests from Springfield, Ludlow, Longmeadow, Hadley, Amherst, Palmer, New York, Maine and Austin, Tex., attended the ceremony.

Shirley, age 23 years, and Murvil Burnett, age 24 years, appeared on the US Census of 1950 at 825 Pendleton Avenu, Chicopee, Massachusetts.8 Shirley and Murvil were divorced on 27 June 1969.5
