Captain François LeRoy dit Audy was born circa 1683 at Kingston, Ulster County, New York.1,2,3 He was the son of Siméon LeRoy dit Audy and Claude Des Chalets.1
Captain François LeRoy dit Audy married Celetje Jans Damen, daughter of Jan Corneliszen Damen and Sophia Martense, in 1705 at Dutchess County, New York.
François and Celetjemoved to Poughkeepsie, Dutchess County, New York, in 1709 after buying a plot of land from Myndert Harnenszen.2 Both Franéois and Celetje were early members of the Dutch Church in Poughkeepsie.2 François and Celetje Jans Damen were known to be living in 1710 at Poughkeepsie, Dutchess County, New York.1 He was an assessor for Poughkeepsie in 1719. He served again in 1723 and from 1727 to 1728.2 François was ordained in 1720 a deacon. François was ordained in 1739 an elder.2 François wrote his will on 22 December 1759 at Poughkeepsie, Dutchess County, New York.2
