Charles Wood married Luva Estelle Burnett, daughter of Francis William Burnett and Vera May Lord.3 Charles Wood died on 25 January 2001 at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital, Pittston, Luzerne County, Pennsylvania.1 Charles's obituary of 28 January 2001, reads:
Charles H. Wood, of Searle / Street, Pittston, died Thursday at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.
Born in Staten Island, N.Y., he resided in Pittston for the past eight years. He was a U.S. veteran of World War II and was formerly self -employed as a carpenter.
He was preceded in death by his wife, the former Luva Burnett.
Surviving are his daughters, Charlotte Brewers, Staten Island, N.Y; Roberta St. George, WilkesBarre; Angel Wood, Pittston; Gina Gunther, Poconos; 10 grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.
Funeral services will be at the convenience of the family. There will be no calling hours. Arrangements are by the Yeosock Funeral Home, 40 S. Main St., Plains Township.
