     Merville Charles Burnett was born on 11 June 1870 at St. Albans, Vermont.1,2,3 He was the son of Frank William Burnett and Calista Ann Prentiss. Merville, age 10, appeared on the US Census of 1880 living at Swanton, Vermont,in the household of his parents, Frank William and Calista Ann Burnett.4

Merville Charles Burnett, age 20, married Annie Georgianna Rich, daughter of Oliver Rich and Mary Ann Vayo, on 13 October 1890 at St. Albans, Vermont. They had no children together.2,5 Merville and an unknown person wedding announcement of 21 October 1890, reads:

A WEDDING CELEBRATION.


On Monday evening, the 13th. Marvell Burnett and Miss Annie Rich, both of this village, were united in marriage by Rev. Father Daignault, at his residence, and left shortly after for Boston. They returned to St. Albans yesterday, and in the evening wedding supper was served at the residence of the groom's parents, the rooms being decorated and a large company of friends present. The wedding gifts were numerous and valuable--among them a parlor from the groom's parents, a silver tea set from other friends, a Grecian clock from the Willard Mf'g Co., by whom the groom has been employed four years as head cutter. Capt. F. L. Greene of the Sons of Veterans made the presentation speech, and after a substantial supper the company repaired to the home of the bride's parents, where other gifts were inspected and dancing was indulged in.

Merville, age 29, appeared on the US Census of 1900 living at 16 Westminster Street, Rockingham, Vermont,in the household of his parents, Frank William and Calista Ann Burnett. He is listed as married, but his wife is not listed. Murvall worked as a manufacturer of wrappers for ladies.1 Merville, age 39 years, and Annie Burnett appeared on the US Census of 1910 at Rockingham, Vermont.6 According to the Federal Census in 1910, Merville was a restaurant keeper.6 Merville, age 49 years, and Annie Burnett appeared on the US Census of 1920 at Charlestown, New Hampshire. Merville's mother, Calista Burnett was living with them.7 According to the Federal Census in 1920, Merville was a farmer.7 Merville, age 59 years, appeared on the US Census of 1930 on 62 Dartmouth College Highway North, Marlow, New Hampshire.8 According to the Federal Census in 1930, Merville was a proper cook in a lunchroom.8 He died on 9 July 1930 at Rockingham Hospital, Rockingham, Vermont, at age 60 from a cerebral embolism caused by an auto accident.3,9 Merville's obituary of 10 July 1930, reads:

BELLOWS FALLS, July 9- Murvell C. Burnet, restaurant proprietor at Marlow Junction, died this morning at Rockingham Hospital from the effects of injuries received Monday when his car went down a bank between here and South Acworth.

He leaves a mother, residing here, and two brothers, Henry of Newport, Vt, and Edward of Boston.

Funeral services will be held Friday at 2 at the Fenton & Henessey undertaking parlor, Rev Curry M. Spidell, pastor of the Baptist Church, officiating, with burial in Oak Hill Cemetery.
