Frank William Burnett

     Frank William Burnett was born on 10 August 1842 at Alburgh, Vermont.^1,2,3 He was the son of François Bonin and Zoe Babin dite LaCroix. Frank William Burnett was christened on 14 August 1842 at Église de Saint-Georges, Henryville, Québec, Canada, He was christened François Bonin.³ Frank, age 7, appeared on the US Census of 1850 living at Johnson, Vermont,in the household of his parents, Franklin and Zoe Burnett.⁴ Frank, age 16, appeared on the US Census of 1860 living at Alburgh, Vermont,in the household of his parents, Franklin and Zoe Burnett.⁵ According to the Federal Census in 1860, Frank was a farm laborer working on the Honsinger farm.⁵ In 1861 Frank lived at St. Albans, Vermont.⁶ On 4 September 1861, he enlisted in the 5th Vermont Infantry, Company C as a private He deserted 25 October 1862, but rejoined 21 February 1863. He was wounded in the Battle of the Wilderness on 5 May 1864. He served until April 1865.^6,7,8,9

Frank William Burnett married Calista Ann Prentiss, daughter of John Prentiss and Katherine Fadden, in 1869.^1,10 Frank, age 27 years, and Calista Burnett, age 16 years, appeared on the US Census of 1870 at St. Albans, Vermont.¹¹ According to the Federal Census in 1870, Frank was a railroad laborer.¹¹ Frank Burnett, 37 years, appeared as Head of Household with Calista, his wife, on the United States Census of 1880 at Swanton, Vermont.¹² According to the Federal Census in 1880, Frank was a barber.¹² In 1883 Frank lived at Swanton, Vermont.¹³ Frank Burnett, 57 years, appeared as Head of Household with Calista, his wife, on the United States Census of 1900 at 16 Westminster Street, Rockingham, Vermont.¹ According to the Federal Census in 1900, Frank was a barber.¹ Frank, age 67 years, and Calista Burnett, age 56 years, appeared on the US Census of 1910 at Charlestown, New Hampshire.¹⁴ According to the Federal Census in 1910, Frank was a farmer.¹⁴ He died on 21 March 1913 at South Charlestown, New Hampshire, at age 70 from cardiac dilatation.^9,2 Frank was buried at Oak Hill Cemetery, Bellows Falls, Vermont.¹⁵
