Gerard J. Sullivan was born on 14 October 1922 at Upper Darby Township, Delaware County, Pennsylvania.1,2,3,4,5,6 He was the son of Captain Thomas Florence Sullivan and Honora Agnes Kavanaugh. Gerard J. Sullivan went by the nick-name of Joe. His nickname came from a childhood nickname of Jo-Jo given by his mom. Gerard, age 7, appeared on the US Census of 1930 living at 7116 Pennsylvania Avenue, Upper Darby Township, Delaware County, Pennsylvania,in the household of his parents, Thomas Florence and Agnes Sullivan.7 Gerard, age 11, appeared on the US Census of 1940 living at 7116 Pennsylvania Avenue, Upper Darby Township, Delaware County, Pennsylvania,in the household of his parents, Thomas Florence and Honora Agnes Sullivan.8 On on 30 June 1942, Gerard registered for the World War II draft, while living at 7116 Pennsylvania Avenue, Upper Darby Township, Delaware County, Pennsylvania. He gave his age as 19, and he was a student at Villa Nova College.5
He enlisted in the Army Air Corp as a private on 23 December 1943. He was discharged 16 November 1945.2,9,5,6
Gerard J. Sullivan, age 21, married Geraldine Ann Calhoun, age 18 , daughter of Anderson Deverney Calhoun and Frances M Peffer, on 20 September 1944 at the Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Gerard Sullivan appeared as Head of Household with Geraldine, his wife, on the United States Census of 1950 at Upper Darby Township, Delaware County, Pennsylvania. Gerard's widowed mother lived with them.12 Gerard was a salesman in engineering supplies in 1950.12 In 1980, the year Gerard died, he lived at Indianapolis, Indiana.1 He died on 18 November 1980 in the Community Hospital, Indianapolis, Marion County, Indiana, at age 58 from pneumonia and respiratory failure. His death certificate lists his occupation as the President of Teledyne National Tracing Paper Company.1,3,4,6,13

Services for Gerard Sullivan, Indianapolis, president of Teledyne National Tracing in Flanner Paper, & will be Buchanan Monday at Shadeland 9:30 a.m. Mortuary and at 10 a.m. in St. Pius X Catholic Church.
Sullivan, 58, died Tuesday in Community Hospital.
He was a member of Knights of Columbus and was an Army Air Corps veteran of World War II. He had attended Villanova University.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Community Hospital Foundation.
Friends may call Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Rosary will be Sunday at 8 p.m. Burial will be in Oaklawn Cemetery.
