Philias Roy was born on 8 March 1866 at Montréal, Québec, Canada.1,2 He was the son of Joseph Roy and Marie-Adelaide Gagnon. Philias, age 6, appeared on the Canadian Census of 1871 at Lévis, Québec, Canada, in the household of his parents, Joseph and Marie-Adelaide Roy.3 Philias Roy immigrated in 1877 to the United States. Philias immigrated with his family on 1 March 1877 to Cohoes, Albany County, New York.4 Philias, age 14, appeared on the US Census of 1880 living at 119 Wilmar Avenue, Cohoes, Albany County, New York,in the household of his parents, Joseph and Roy.2
