Napoleon Ovita Roy was born on 22 December 1867 at Montréal, Québec, Canada.1,2,3,4 He was the son of Joseph Roy and Marie-Adelaide Gagnon. Napoleon Ovita Roy was also known as Joseph Ovili according to his birth certificate. Napoleon immigrated with his family on 1 March 1877 to Cohoes, Albany County, New York.1 Napoleon, age 11, appeared on the US Census of 1880 living at 119 Wilmar Avenue, Cohoes, Albany County, New York,in the household of his parents, Joseph and Roy.5
Napoleon Ovita Roy, age 22, married Delia Lemieux, age 21 , daughter of Joseph Lemieux and Louise Lecompte, on 12 February 1890 at the Rochester, Monroe County, New York.
Napoleon, age 24 years, appeared on the New York State Census of 1892 at Rochester, Monroe County, New York.7 Napoleon, age 32 years, and Delia, age 31 years, appeared on the US Census of 1900 on 14 Cameron Street, Rochester, Monroe County, New York.4 According to the Federal Census in 1900, Napoleon was a mechanic.4 Napoleon, age 37 years, and Delia, age 36 years , appeared on the New York State Census of 1905 at Rochester, Monroe County, New York.8 Napoleon, age 47 years, and Delia, age 46 years , appeared on the New York State Census of 1915 at Rochester, Monroe County, New York.9 Napoleon, age 52 years, and Delia, age 51 years, appeared on the US Census of 1920 on 141 Barbara Street, Rochester, Monroe County, New York.10 According to the Federal Census in 1920, Napoleon was a wood worker in the Kodak factory.10 Napoleon, age 62 years, and Delia, age 61 years, appeared on the US Census of 1930 on 112 Rose Mary Drive, Rochester, Monroe County, New York. Napoleon and Delia were living with their son Fred A. Roy.11 Napoleon Ovita Roy died on 5 April 1943 at Rochester, Monroe County, New York, at age 75.1,12 Napoleon was buried at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Rochester, Monroe County, New York.1,12
