Dean R. Starkey was born on 28 January 1933 at Athol, Massachusetts.2,3,4,5 He was the son of Eugene F. Starkey and Muriel Louise Maclean.1 Dean, age 7, appeared on the US Census of 1940 living at Stone Road, Wendell, Massachusetts,in the household of his parents, Eugene F. and Muriel Louise Starkey.6 Dean, age 17, appeared on the US Census of 1950 living at 64 Stone Road, Wendell, Massachusetts,in the household of his parents, Eugene F. and Muriel Louise Starkey.7 He served in the military during both the Korean and Vietnam wars.8
Dean R. Starkey, age 18, married Vera Mae Burnett, age 16 , daughter of Murvil Francis Burnett and Irene Francelia Eddy, on 6 September 1951.2,9 Dean died on 17 September 2002 at home on Sacramento, Sacramento County, California, at age 69.8,5,3 Dean's obituary of 25 September 2002, reads:

Dean passed on to a better place in the early morning of Tuesday, September 17, 2002, in his home surrounded by his loved ones and beloved animals. He fought a long battle and more than earned his right to the peace that passes all understanding. Dean was a loving devoted husband and father and a dear friend to all who knew him. He is survived by his wife Vera and daughter Tiffany. Dean was a native Windell, MA and a graduate of New Salem Academy. He served in the military during both the Korean and Vietnam wars. Dean worked as a Crew Chief for American Airlines for forty one years until his retirement in 1995. He was loved and will be missed by everyone, even those who didn't know him well. Memorial services for Dean will be held on Friday September 27, 2002 Andrews at 11:30am, Church at Saint Highlands, 7850 Watt Avenue, Antelope, CA 95843. Call (916) 332-1476 for directions. In lieu of flowers, Dean's family requests that donations be made in his name to the American Diabetes Association or Saint Andrews Church in the Highlands.
