     Paul Scully was born on 9 February 1860 at Albany, Albany County, New York.1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8 He was the son of Daniel Scully and Ellen McCormick. Paul, age 4 months, appeared on the US Census of 1860 living at Greenbush, Rensselaer County, New York,in the household of his parents, Daniel and Ellen Scully; living with the Doiran family.9 Paul, age 10, appeared on the US Census of 1870 living at Temperanceville (now West End Villiage), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania,in the household of his parents, Daniel and Ellen Scully.10 In 1890 Paul lived at 34 Steuben Street, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, according to the Pittsburgh City Directory.11

Paul Scully, age 31, married Nancy Veronica Scobie, age 22 , daughter of Archibald P. Scobie and Mary Robinson, on 1 September 1891 at the St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, Parkersburg, Wood County, West Virginia. They were married by the Rev. E. M. Hickey. Ellen Scully was one of her bridesmaids.1,12,2,3,5,7 Circa 1893 Paul lived at Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.3 Paul, age 39 years, and Anna, age 31 years, appeared on the US Census of 1900 on 1122 Rives Avenue, Esplen, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.1 Paul was a day laborer in 1900.1 Paul, age 49 years, and Anna, age 41 years, appeared on the US Census of 1910 on 1524 West Carson Street, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.13 According to the Federal Census in 1910, Paul was a railroad conductor.13 Paul, age 59 years, and Anna, age 51 years, appeared on the US Census of 1920 on 2407 West Carson Street, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.14 According to the Federal Census in 1920, Paul was a street car conductor.14 Paul, age 69 years, and Anna, age 61 years, appeared on the US Census of 1930 on 2407 West Carson Street, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.15 According to Rose Scully:
"Father was a street car conductor. He often went to work at four o'clock in the morning and was seldom home on holidays. He was good matured and easy going. He was blind for the last 10 years of his life."2,5,7


Paul, age 79 years, and Anna, age 71 years, appeared on the US Census of 1940 on 2407 West Carson Street, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.16 In 1947, the year Paul died, he lived at Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.4,5 Paul died on 3 August 1947 at home on 2407 West Carson Street, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, at age 87 from nephritus.2,3,4,6,7,8,17 Paul's obituary of 5 August 1947, reads:

SCULLY- August 3, 1947, Paul, husband of Anna V. Scully; father of Paul V. John J., Joseph D., Mary and Rose Scully. Friends received at his home, 2407 West Carson St., near Corliss St. Funeral Wednesday, August 6, at 8:30 a.m. Solemn requiem high mass at St. James' Church at 9:30 o'clock. Members of Division 85, Street Railway Employes and friends invited. Kindly omit flowers.
