     Nancy Veronica Scobie was born on 2 October 1868 at Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.1,2,3,4 She was the daughter of Archibald P. Scobie and Mary Robinson. Nancy Veronica Scobie went by the nick-name of Anna. Sheappeared on the US Census of 1870 in the household of Archibald P. Scobie and Mary Robinson at Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.1 Nancy Veronica Scobieappeared on the US Census of 1880 in the household of Archibald P. Scobie and Mary Robinson at Chartiers, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.5

Nancy Veronica Scobie, age 22, married Paul Scully, age 31 , son of Daniel Scully and Ellen McCormick, on 1 September 1891 at the St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, Parkersburg, Wood County, West Virginia. They were married by the Rev. E. M. Hickey. Ellen Scully was one of her bridesmaids.1,6,7,2,3,8 As of 1 September 1891,her married name was Scully. Circa 1893 Anna lived at Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.2 Anna, age 31 years, and Paul, age 39 years, appeared on the US Census of 1900 on 1122 Rives Avenue, Esplen, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.1 Anna, age 41 years, and Paul, age 49 years, appeared on the US Census of 1910 on 1524 West Carson Street, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.9 Anna, age 51 years, and Paul, age 59 years, appeared on the US Census of 1920 on 2407 West Carson Street, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.10 According to Rose Scully:
"Mother was strict. She would never have approved of the permissive system of child raising. We had constant loving care, but we did what we were told and asked few questions; they wouldn't have been answered anyway. Mother was a good manager, and it never occurred to any of us that we were either 'underprivileged' or 'deprived'.3"


Anna, age 61 years, and Paul, age 69 years, appeared on the US Census of 1930 on 2407 West Carson Street, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.11 Anna, age 71 years, and Paul, age 79 years, appeared on the US Census of 1940 on 2407 West Carson Street, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.12 In 1947 Nancy lived at 2407 West Carson Street, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.3 Anna, age 81 years, appeared on the US Census of 1950 at 2407 West Carson Street, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, She was listed as a widow.13 She died on 12 April 1954 at Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, at age 85.2,3,4 Nancy's death notice of 15 April 1954, reads:

SCULLY—On Monday, April 12, 1954, Anna V. wife of the late Paul Scully; mother of Paul V.. John J., Joseph D., Mary and Rose Scully; also nine grandchildren: 19 great -grandchildren; sister of Archie Scobie. Friends received at the family home, 2407 West Carson St. Blessing in St. James Church, Friday. April 16 at 9 a. m. Please, no Flowers.
